Last spring, individuals lived in a world of uncertainty, of not knowing what came next. After the summer, USD students in particular were expectant of a more “normal” Fall 2020 semester. But, amidst rising cases and per state guidelines, classes and campus life did not resume in person as many were hoping.
This spring, however, is different and one thing is certain: plans for an in-person Fall 2021 semester at USD are underway.

Harris III, D.Ed., and Tom Skinner, general counsel for USD less than 24 hours before the event began.

Although the Student Health Center (SHC) is still working toward attaining a larger vaccination supply for the USD community, the hope is that in the upcoming weeks greater amounts of students will be able to get vaccinated on campus before the semester ends.

Through the uncertainty of the pandemic that students are still facing, planning for the future proves difficult to do. Students are expected to make decisions on class schedules and housing with limited information on what the Fall 2021 semester will look like.

As they have both been campaigning virtually, they have relied on social media in order to voice their message to the student body. While they have both served ASG in their own rights, their visions for the future of student government are different.
