Every year, San Diego holds a music and media conference. This year, the music venues were situated mainly in North Park, with The Griffin being one of the included locations. The conference took place at Sheraton Hotel in Mission Valley. It was an opportunity for people of all ages to go and learn more about the music industry, and possibly be introduced to new bands of their liking. The concert at The Griffin hosted The Features that night, to the delight of a packed house.

The Features are an indie rock band from Tennessee, and they have recently enjoyed a great amount of airplay on 91X with their most popular song off of their self-titled album. The band took the stage at 12:30 A.M. to a packed venue. They began with a song off their Wilderness album, titled “How It Starts.” Fans sang along as they heard both the old and the new songs the band had prepared for the evening. Just after halfway through their set, The Features began to play “This Disorder.” This was the song that the crowd arguably enjoyed the most from the set. They showed their approval by singing and cheering along loudly to the chorus.

Overall, the band played a great show at an excellent venue and the energy they had during their performance shows why they were part of this year’s San Diego Music Thing. The band gives the crowd a lot of energy at all their shows, and the one at The Griffin was no exception. If you want to find out what this band is all about, be sure to check them out on Facebook or any other online music streaming service.
