HIGH NOON NEON TOUR: Jason Aldean

Ivana Gilger / Jason Aldean / Mattress Firm Amphitheater / September 20, 2018

Pull out those daisy dukes and cowboy boots! Southern style hit southern California on Thursday, September 20th at Mattress Firm Amphitheater in Chula Vista. Country artist, Jason Aldean, blew the night away with his strong vocals, amazing guitar playing, and all around great entertainment.

At an amphitheater seating 20,500, the concert was sold out and packed. From the lawn all the way to front pit, Aldean and his boys put on an amazing show. I have personally never seen Mattress Firm Amphitheater so crowded, however, it only made the experience better. The crowd was energetic, loud, and rowdy. Fans were shaking their boots, doing the footloose, and singing every word to Aldean’s songs.

In cowboy boots, a flannel, jeans, and a cowboy hat, Aldean performed songs from his new album, Rearview Town. Aldean immediately began his show with energy and intensity. The crowd was instantly hyped when Aldean appeared on stage. In addition to playing this album, Aldean performed some of his greatest hits with songs like: “Lights Come On,” “She’s Country,” “Night Train,” and “Amarillo Sky.” He performed for about an hour and a half, ending the night at 11.

The concert began at 7:30 with opening artist Lauren Alaina, who performed a total of seven songs. Alaina’s sweet yet powerful vocals won over the crowd. Her sassy southern style shined through her performance. Alaina sang with heart and passion, and was a great start to a great night.

Following Alaina was the talented Luke Combs. Combs is not only a great artist and performer, but he also did an amazing job at getting the crowd even more excited for Jason Aldean. Combs performed from his album This One’s For You. This terrific team made up of Lauren Alaina, Luke Combs, and Jason Aldean made for an unforgettable night.

My very first country concert, two years ago, was Jason Aldean. He is the reason I began enjoying and appreciating country music. Two years ago, I put on some boots and went to one of my favorite shows. Aldean set the bar high. Unsurprisingly, Aldean was even better the second time around. The crowd was bigger. The night was louder. The energy was stronger. The bar went higher.

Seated in the general admission lawn, one could feel how alive the night was. For one night, everyone is joined together through a shared love for an artist and the music. The night was full of singing as loud as possible, dancing until feet ached, and making memories that are unforgettable. A country concert is a different experience with a different energy and is completely worth attending.

Jason Aldean kicked off the High Noon Neon Tour on May 10 in Kansas City, Mo. The tour will come to an end this month, on September 29, in Irvine, CA. If you missed out this year, I highly recommend grabbing tickets for his show next year. If you do not like country or have never heard Jason Aldean, I suggest listening to him, as his vocals and talent will blow you away.

Tickets range from $45-200.
