95th Oscars recap

This year, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences hosted the 95th Academy Awards, also known as the “Oscars,” on March 12. The Academy Awards have been around since 1929, honoring films released each year. Outstanding films from the previous year are nominated for various reasons in 24 different categories, from directing, editing, costume design and more, celebrating each film’s accomplishments.

‘Avatar: The Way of Water’

“Avatar: The Way of Water” is set to premiere in theaters on Dec. 16, exactly 13 years after the original movie, “Avatar,” was released in Dec. 2009 and director James Cameron has talked about the sequel since the release of the initial movie. After a limited screening of “Avatar” in Los Angeles, Cameron hinted to the crowd, “Yes, there’ll be another.”

Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Pinocchio’

Guillermo del Toro is a popular Mexican director, author and actor. Having won six Academy Awards in the past 15 years, del Toro has made his mark as a filmmaker. Some of his most famous works include “The Shape of Water,” “Pan’s Labyrinth” and his most recent movie, “Nightmare Alley.” Many are anticipating his newest film — which is coming to Netflix in early December — “Pinocchio.”
