Welcome back, Toreros! And for those of you who have just joined the USD community, welcome to the family!
On behalf of Associated Students, we hope you have found yourself getting settled in and finding your niche after last week’s Alcala Bazaar.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Associated Students, we serve the undergraduates of USD as official representatives, who promote opportunities for growth and expression, address student issues and enrich a diverse, inclusive and engaged community.
The Senate will be elected this Thursday, September 26, comprised of thirty senators who represent residential areas (freshmen housing, upperclassmen housing, commuters) as well as the academic colleges of our school (College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, School of Engineering).
In this upcoming election voting will occur for the 15 residential senator positions as well as two vacant College of Arts and Sciences senator positions.
Along with addressing the concerns and issues of their respective constituents, senators stand on a committee that focuses on any of the following topics:Â Academics, Inclusion & Diversity, Student Life or Student Organizations.
Each senator will maintain close working relationships with the administration, faculty and staff in order to make positive changes that are beneficial to the student population.
Considering these senators will be representing and advocating for your concerns and specific needs for the next academic year, please take the time to participate on Voting Day!
The link to the voting page will be available on your MySanDiego Portal from 9 am-9 pm Thursday, September 26.
For those of you who will be on campus, there will be voting booths available from 12-2pm in front of La Paloma and the UC (*cool giveaways at the voting booths!).
