Cross country, golf, and tennis were highlighted for new school records and exciting wins, while volleyball and football continued their trends of excellence this season.

USD Athletics went on a winning streak this weekend, with men’s soccer finding their first conference win of the season and the golf team winning their first tournament of the season. Swim & dive beat LMU in the pool, and football continued a five-game winning streak against Valparaiso.

After practice on Aug 18, the football team stayed in the dorms of Valley B as part of their summer training camp. They returned home to a startling discovery; an intruder had been rummaging through an apartment on the first floor.

The University of San Diego Torero football team opened its fall season at home on Saturday, Sept. 4 against the California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly) Mustangs.

The University of San Diego’s football team dominated the winless Stetson Hatters on senior night at home on Saturday. Despite being heavily favored to win the contest, 3-1 USD got off to a slow start against the Hatters. Despite trailing 3-10 at the end of the first half, the rest of the game was all USD. The Toreros held Stetson scoreless for the entire second half, while proceeding to score 31 points to win the game.
