Gonzaga hands USD first loss of the conference season
As the University of San Diego women’s soccer opened up their second match of the West Coast Conference at home, they were unable to hold onto the recent fortune from their 2-0 win at LMU. The University of Gonzaga Bulldogs bested them with a 3-0 shutout win, using their powerful shots and aggressiveness to coast right past the Toreros.

For 12 innings of softball on Sunday, the University of San Diego stayed within arm’s reach of the 5th-ranked team in the country, the University of Washington. It was only in the 13th inning of play, the top of game two’s 6th, that the Huskies out-classed the Toreros, scoring seven runs to end their second win of the day an inning early, due to the NCAA’s run rule.

The University of San Diego women’s soccer team visited the Loyola Marymount Lions on Saturday for each team’s West Coast Conference opener. USD recently suffered heavy losses after the Pepperdine Waves overcame them 4-1 at home and No. 4 UCLA defeated them 3-0 in Los Angeles, but were set to move past these non-conference losses and get back on track for the start of a new season.
