More than 2000 Southwest flights were cancelled due to weather and air traffic control issues. Because of this, some USD students traveling home for the weekend were affected, and forced to miss classes in wake of the cancelations.

The women’s soccer team won their first West Coast Conference game against the LMU Lions on Friday, Oct. 15, with first-year Sara Evans scoring twice to catapult the Toreros to victory. Men’s soccer lost in a heartbreaker to San Diego State the same night, with the Aztecs scoring the winner in the 90th minute to hand USD a 1-2 defeat.
