“The Farm” expected to be most popular show this spring

In season four of “The Office,” it was revealed that the Schrute Farm at which Dwight resides is being run as an “agritourism” bed and breakfast. The Nielsen ratings for that particular episode were so high, and the viewer feedback so positive, that NBC has decided to base an entire series on it.
The series, titled “The Farm,” will star Rainn Wilson as Dwight Schrute and Michael Shur as Dwight’s cousin Mose. Original characters from “The Office” will make appearances but new characters will also be introduced.
The show will concentrate mostly on examining Dwight’s life outside of the office. Faithful “Office” viewers know that Dwight has been having a hard time moving on from the failed relationship he shared with Angela. His emotions will be exploited weekly and viewers will be shown how difficult it is for a weird person to experience sadness while unsuccessfully trying to maintain a job as Assistant to the Regional Manager and run a bed and breakfast at the same time.
Once the first season of “The Farm” ends and is put on DVD, special features will include Dwight’s recipes for all different kinds of foods that incorporate beets and a walk-through tour of Dwight’s nine-bedroom, one outhouse, farmhouse.
While all of the above sounds very exciting, intriguing and wild, there is a downside. Since Dwight is the main character of “The Farm,” he will no longer be a regular character on “The Office.”
Dwight will decide that he needs to step down from his position as Assistant (to the) Regional Manager in order to spend more time with his cousin on the family farm. He will remain a part-time employee at the Scranton branch, but will no longer be spending all of his time in the office.
“The Farm” is set to premiere sometime this April and is expected to be just as popular as “The Office,” if not more.
