David Orobosa Omoregie, widely known as Dave or Santan Dave, is a British rapper, singer, songwriter, pianist, record producer and actor. At 21 years old, the British born rapper of African descent has done things most 21 year olds could only ever dream of. Dave’s rise to the top was a process that began in 2016 when he released his debut EP Six Paths. This project followed successful singles that were released prior such as Thiago Silva and Wanna Know, a song which was later remixed by Drake, becoming Dave’s first single to chart. His consistency is what made him the Top boy of the UK rap scene, Dave’s debut album, Psychodrama (March 8, 2019), went number one before he turned 21 on the UK Albums Chart, proceeding to win the Mercury Prize awarded for the best album released in the United Kingdom by a British artist or act. 

Psychodrama takes the listener into Dave’s personal life. The rapper doesn’t hold back when talking about his early life in his hometown of Streatham. Releasing the album at just 20 years old, details from songs like Psycho show that the young star is human like everyone else, giving the album a strong opening by drawing the listener in with commonalities. Dave’s success is not only in music. He made his acting debut on Season 3 of the Netflix series Top Boy. With more to come, Dave’s versatility as a creative puts him among some of the best acts to come out of the UK.
