SONY’s: Lost In Music

“Lost In Music” is an annual free event hosted by SONY where they design an insanely surreal, music based experience with performances from various artists. The whole point of the production is to give fans of SONY the chance to have an unforgettable experience surrounded by music and a beautiful setup that takes them away from reality.
Day one of SONY’s Lost In Music took place at the Avalon nightclub in Hollywood with breathtaking performances by rapper/producer/writer, London on Da Track, and the R&B sensation, H.E.R. They opened the show for singer/songwriter, Khalid, who stunned the audience with his hit songs, such as “Young Dumb & Broke” and “Location,” from his platinum album American Teen.
On the second day, the venue shifted to LA Hangar Studios, which had been designed as a mystic dreamscape. When the guests arrived, they were guided through the “Reality Departure Lounge” before walking into another dreamlike experience room called the Acoustic Vessel “Odyssey”. The experience was made with 576 SONY speakers that made the guests feel sound in a uniquely, magical way.
The set-up of the event was absolutely mind blowing. The picture to the right and below displays a bed appearing to be vertically standing against a wall, however, it functions as an entrance to the main room where the performances take place.
The second show consisted of hot new artists such as Olivia Noelle, and The Lost Kings, and G-Eazy.
Olivia Noelle started the show off with both new and older singles, including “Faking It,” “High for Me,” and “Made of Gold.” I was surprised to find myself really vibing to her music. It is a blend of pop, hip hop, and female empowerment all mixed into one.
The Lost Kings performed next, bringing a new energy to the room. Their DJ skills are incredible; mashing all kinds of music genres ranging from EDM to rap to indie and alternative. The crowd was very energetic and everyone sang and danced along to all the songs. They were the perfect opening for G-Eazy because they got the crowd ready for the insane thrill we were all about to experience.
Finally, G-Eazy took the stage and stunned the crowd, performing his new album The Beautiful and Damned, along with some of his older hits including “These Things Happen,” “Me, Myself, and I,” and “Random.” The overall experience was definitely unforgettable and very extraordinary for all the guests who were able to attend. I have never seen such a creative setup before, so SONY, along with their wonderful choice in performers, did absolutely amazing.
