USD en route to normalcy for Fall 2021

Last spring, individuals lived in a world of uncertainty, of not knowing what came next. After the summer, USD students in particular were expectant of a more “normal” Fall 2020 semester. But, amidst rising cases and per state guidelines, classes and campus life did not resume in person as many were hoping. 
This spring, however, is different and one thing is certain: plans for an in-person Fall 2021 semester at USD are underway.

One day it’s the first year, and the next it’s somehow senior year, and college is about to come to a close. From criminalized to capitalized: An examination of cannabis in light of 4/20

Weed, kush, pot, marijuana — regardless of the title, it is likely students have some familiarity with cannabis. According to a study by Narconon International, over 50% of adults in the U.S. have smoked it in their life, and this number is likely to increase as legalization continues. Where this herb is permitted recreationally, shops can be found that resemble candy stores.

USD mandates COVID-19 vaccination for students on campus next semester

With the end of the semester approaching, USD announced their decision to make getting a COVID-19 vaccination a requirement for those choosing to live in on-campus residence halls or attend in-person classes for the Fall 2021 semester. Although the Student Health Center (SHC) is still working toward attaining a larger vaccination supply for the USD community, the hope is that in the upcoming weeks greater amounts of students will be able to get vaccinated on campus before the semester ends.
